Where can one get the , “stick pic” ?
DUDE! Are you paying attention? I can’t send a link in this post but Google it man!
Thanks dude !
i don’t carry a stuff sack all of that goes on the exterior pouches on my pack.
I put my toothpaste in a little 1 oz flip top lid poly container.
great video i love seeing people’s EDC hiking gear like this! thanks!
I use a circa 1987 Outdoor Research organizer bag that unzips and rolls out flat. It has a netted, zip up pouch I keep all my hygene/first aid items in ziploc bags, aquapure as well as my vacuum venom kit. (used it/works). The fold out portion has various size slide in pouches that hold sissors, toenail clippers, micro-screwdriver, can opener, utensils, thermarest patch kit, bandages, spare ziplocs, wire rope, sewing kit, spare lighter, matches, batteries, lightbulbs, razor, and pot grabber.
I’m w/ pineapplenewton1, I also put all that stuff into different outside pockets on my pack. I find it’s easier to get at those items when they’re accessable w/out opening the pack’s main compartment. I keep toiletries in a rigid plastic box w/ a hinged lid. That way I can open the box & set it on a rock & everything in it is easy to grab & the box provides a solid, sanitary platform for all those items that you really want to keep dirt off of.
ahh don’t use hand sanitizer to clean wounds man… alcohol impedes the healing process
Some people call it “pinch bag” in Japan. I don’t know if this is a correct English word.
I always carry 1 ounce of Lugol’s solution to disinfect water and wounds on top of many things. I prefer to use a red pouch, distinguishable for emergency.
Nice vid, as usual!
please don’t use hand sanitizer, all it does is make the stronger bacteria stronger… Sure it’s great short term, but long term it’s gunna screw us all over
also alcohol kills cells, which later become “food” for bacteria. So alcohol is not good in the long run
Isn’t deet rather dangerous.
I carry an EDC bag and it contains most of the things you showed.
My bag is very similar to yours. I have no name for it. I use one of the zippered Granite Gear silnylon bags – easier to dig around and find stuff.
I consider hand sanitizer essential in the wilderness. Alcohol based hand sanitizer does not cause mutation of germs or lowering of the immune system – that’s a myth.
Instead of toothpaste I bring a small container of tooth powder. It works well and seems to have less environmental impact.
@ledzeppie You’re wrong. Alcohol does not cause mutation of bacteria. Certain antibiotics and biocides do, but as of yet there is no evidence of bacterial strains developing immunity to alcohol. It would be very unlikely due to the way it works.
Try going on ebay to get the toothpaste.
You might want to refill that toothpaste tube
with your household toothpaste and a syringe. you can pick them up at your craft stores and such for gluing items and other purposes and they have tips that are like teardrops that will do the job just rite. Saves on airfare to China plus you’ll help to reduce and reuse. Just a thought!
“Possibles” bag.
I don’t have a name for it but I do carry it and it has pretty much everything you had. I also have chapstick and a larger fire kit with esbit fuel tabs in case all my wood is wet. As far as a tooth brush I like the new Wisp burshes it has the tooth pase in the brush and they only weigh a few grams. Do you carry extra batteries for your flashlight?
I carry one. I don’t really have a name for it. But sometimes, I call it a “go bag”. I can grab it and go.
Great video. I would suggest not carrying all three of your fire starters in one place. Maybe keep the flint on your person.
I call mine the “Junk Drawer”.
