Ultimate Survival Technologies Blastmatch vs Sparkie flint for Ultralight Backpacking. I own the Blastmatch from Ultimate Survival Technologies and have been eyeballing the new Sparkie since it hit REI. I actually even contacted US before the Sparkie hit the market back in Nov ‘08. I had a similar problem with my new Sparkie but found that it just got a bit dirty from scraping the rod. A quick rinse and a shake dry and it was as good as new.
