yeah… too many people wonder these places with no survival training or sometimes even common sense. shame…
yeah it is a little against what ray usually preaches. I’m guessing that teaching fire by friction in the jungle would be almost pointless cause anyone watching wouldn’t stand a chance with all that wet wood lol

He`s a good bloke but he should have used a flint instead. Makes it more professional.
Just how hard dose it need to be to start a fire when your not getting stuck there and are just hiking….DOSE IT REALY MATTER! You can just buy one…

You can spend 6 hours rubbing two sticks together. I’ll spend 10 minutes with a lighter.

Alcohol ( Especially Rubbing Alcohol) is a good Mosquito-Repellant. I’ve heard that rubbing Garlic is also protection?

Well, when it’s in proper storage it will be there to light a quick fire in a emergency situation. Instead of fumbling around with two sticks, he already has a fire going. This is survival, not a complicated parlor trick show-off.
